For the 2024-25 academic year, I am pleased to be working with an amazing team for some AI upgrades to the annual GCC student fashion show. Students in my Fashion Industry Technology course are expected to create virtual versions of their original designs. The Presidents Innovation Award grant will help us translate those digital images into practical applications.
Working with Greg Brooks and Puck Gross on the Media and Academic Technology Services (MATS) team, Scott Little in IT User Services, and Laura Taylor, chair of the Fashion Program, my students will be creating a whole series of new experiences. We plan to create a virtual showroom with VR headsets, a series of magic mirrors for virtual 'try-ons,' and potentially even a few holographic figures modeling the garments with full motion and action.
