Peppermint Mocha Coffee Spoons

Rather pleased with this simple recipe. Proportions are very, very nice.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c candy melts
1 tbsp vegetable shortening
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
24 plastic spoons

different colored candy melts for decorating
24 pretzel bags w/twist ties
printable tags

Instructions:

Melt candy melts & shortening in microwave or crock pot. Add extract and stir well.

Dip spoons in, covering front and back well, then give each a tap on the side of the container to remove excess.

Melt additional candy in a frosting piping bag. Snip the end off and drizzle onto the spoons.

Let cool on waxed paper.

Bag 'em up, tie them shut with a tag. I find I have to cut the pretzel bag short.

Note: I used green candy melts, and the resulting spoon turns my coffee green. Tasty, but not necessarily visually appealing. Next year I will try red.
